This simplex single-mode cord connects LC/APC ports to SC/APC ports with an 8-degree angled polish on both ends. It's common in PON networks, FTTH distribution panels, and RF video systems where back reflection must stay low. The G.657.A1 bend-insensitive fiber handles tight turns inside splitter cassettes and wall boxes.
Green connector bodies on both ends mark the APC polish clearly. A slim 2.0 mm low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) jacket limits smoke and corrosive gases in a fire. It's ideal where high-density LC/APC panels meet SC/APC equipment. It suits modern FTTH builds that mix LC and SC hardware.
APC on Both Ends
Both connectors use an 8-degree angled polish. That angle sends reflected light into the cladding instead of back toward the laser. Return loss reaches 60 dB or better, which keeps PON and analog video signals clean.
LC Density Meets SC Equipment
Fiber distribution hubs and splitter cassettes increasingly use LC/APC adapters to save space. Many ONTs, splitters, and older panels still use SC/APC. This cord connects the two formats without adapters or extra loss.
Typical PON Applications
Service providers use this cord between OLT panels and splitter modules, inside multi-dwelling unit distribution boxes, and at customer termination points. RF video overlays and CATV headends use the same angled polish for clean signals.
One Fiber, Two Wavelengths
PON systems carry downstream and upstream traffic on separate wavelengths over a single fiber. That's why a simplex cord is all the link needs. The slim jacket also keeps crowded cassettes tidy.
Bend-Insensitive Glass
This glass tolerates bends down to a 10 mm radius. That matters inside splitter trays and compact boxes, where there's little room for gentle curves. It mates cleanly with standard single-mode cable in the drop.
Never Mix With UPC
Keep both green ends on APC ports. Connecting an APC end to a blue UPC adapter causes severe loss and can scratch the ferrules. Color matching is the quickest way to avoid that mistake.
Mapping Your Network
PON networks branch out quickly through splitters. Label each cord with the splitter port and customer ID. Good records speed up repairs and help field techs trace a drop without unplugging live circuits. That habit saves hours during service calls.
LSZH Jacket and Care
The low-smoke zero-halogen jacket protects people and equipment in enclosed spaces. Check local code for plenum areas. Use an APC-rated cleaner on both ends before connecting, and cap the cord whenever it's unplugged.
