This single-mode LC duplex cord connects long-reach optics, LC patch panels, and transport gear over bend-insensitive OS2 9/125 µm fiber (G.657.A1). Both ends use LC/UPC connectors with a compact 1.25 mm ferrule and a secure push-pull latch. It suits 10G LR, 100G LR4, and CWDM4 transceivers that use duplex LC ports.
A 2.0 mm duplex zipcord holds the transmit and receive fibers. The yellow jacket makes it easy to tell from multimode cords. Its OFNR jacket carries a riser fire rating for building interiors and shafts. It's an everyday essential for single-mode switch rooms. Teams often stock it in several lengths for fast swaps during outages.
Built for Long-Reach Optics
Single-mode transceivers like 10GBASE-LR reach about 10 kilometers. 100GBASE-LR4 covers the same 10 km over a duplex LC pair. CWDM4 modules reach about 2 kilometers. All of them use duplex LC ports, which is exactly what this cord connects.
Bend-Insensitive Fiber
G.657.A1 fiber handles a 10 mm minimum bend radius. That's a big help in dense racks where cords take sharp turns into vertical managers. It also mates cleanly with standard G.652.D single-mode cable already in your plant.
Everyday Single-Mode Patching
Network teams use LC to LC single-mode cords between switches and panels, between routers and DWDM gear, and between building entrance panels and core switches. Keeping a stock of common lengths saves time during moves and outages.
UPC Polish for Data Links
Both ends carry a flat UPC polish in blue connector bodies. This finish suits nearly all single-mode Ethernet optics. Keep the cord away from green APC ports, since mating the two polishes causes heavy loss and damage.
Duplex Zipcord and Polarity
Two fibers sit side by side in A-to-B polarity. Each transmit fiber meets the receive port on the far side. If a link won't come up, swap the LC legs at one end and test again.
Check Your Loss Budget
Single-mode links over many kilometers can run close to their limits. Each mated connector pair adds a little loss. Measure end-to-end loss with a power meter during installation, and record the result with the circuit ID.
Stocking Smart
Keep common lengths like 1, 3, and 5 meters on hand. Label each bag by fiber type and connector, and store cords in loose coils. When a link fails at 2 a.m., grabbing the right cord quickly matters more than anything else.
Jacket and Care
The OFNR jacket meets riser fire ratings for indoor spaces. Use OFNP cords in plenum areas. Clean single-mode end faces carefully, since the 9 µm core is easily blocked by dust.
