Tight Buffer vs. Semi-Tight
This version uses a fully tight 900 µm buffer bonded to the coated fiber. It's stiffer and more protective than semi-tight, which makes it a strong choice where fibers see repeated handling or route along sharp panel edges. The tradeoff is stripping in shorter increments of about 1.5 to 2 cm.
Connector Construction
Each SC connector uses a 2.5 mm ceramic ferrule in a square snap-in housing. It conforms to the TIA FOCIS-3 and IEC 61754-4 interface standards. The UPC polish keeps a flat, slightly domed contact for low insertion loss.
A Simple Loss Budget Check
Add up the expected losses before you install. Count each mated connector pair at up to 0.75 dB and each fusion splice at up to 0.3 dB, the TIA-568 maximums. Then add 3.5 dB/km of fiber at 850 nm. Compare the total to your transceiver's budget, and real-world numbers will usually come in lower.

Three meters per fiber gives plenty of slack to reach the splice tray and loop back to the adapter panel. Store excess fiber in the tray's coil guides. Keep bends above the minimum radius to avoid microbend loss.
