This six-fiber SC/APC pigtail set terminates 6-strand single-mode cable for PON distribution, multi-dwelling units, and RF video networks. Each 3-meter fiber has a factory-polished 8-degree angled connector for very low back reflection.
The semi-tight 0.9 mm buffer strips long sections in one cut, which keeps splice prep quick. Bend-insensitive G.657.A1 glass handles the tight routing found in splitter trays and small distribution boxes. The six strands follow the TIA-598 order from blue to white. The OFNR riser rating covers indoor and vertical runs. It's a practical fit for apartment buildings and small PON splitter boxes.
Six Ports for MDU Distribution
Multi-dwelling unit boxes often serve a handful of apartments from one small splitter. A 1:4 splitter adds about 7 dB of loss, and a 1:8 adds about 10.5 dB. Six APC pigtails give you clean terminations for the feeder and splitter legs in one tidy set.
Angled Polish Benefits
Each connector is polished at 8 degrees from flat. Reflected light escapes into the cladding instead of returning to the laser. Typical APC return loss is 60 dB or better. GPON, XGS-PON, and 1550 nm video overlays all depend on that performance.
Easy-Strip Semi-Tight Buffer
The semi-tight buffer leaves a gap too small to see at 100x, with no gel or powder. It strips at least 10 cm in a single pass. With six fibers to prep in each box, the saved time adds up quickly.
G.657.A1 Fiber Specs
G.657.A1 fiber meets ITU-T limits of 0.25 dB at 1550 nm for ten turns at a 15 mm radius. It also supports a 10 mm minimum bend radius. Its mode field matches G.652.D, which keeps splice loss low on standard feeder cable.
Planning the Splitter Box
A small MDU box often needs one feeder fiber, a few splitter outputs, and a spare or two. Six pigtails cover that layout neatly. Assign colors in a fixed order, such as blue for the feeder, and keep the same plan across every box in the building.
• Connector: SC/APC, 8-degree polish, green
• Fiber: single-mode 9/125 µm, G.657.A1
• Fiber count: 6, TIA-598 colors
• Buffer: 0.9 mm semi-tight
• Fire rating: OFNR
• Length: 3 m
Color Order for Clean Records
The fibers run blue, orange, green, brown, slate, and white. Match each one to its cable fiber and record the splitter port it feeds. Good labels prevent accidental disconnects when other techs work in the box later.
Never Mate With UPC
Keep these green connectors on APC adapters only. Mating an angled face with a flat blue UPC port leaves an air gap. That causes heavy loss and can scratch both ferrules.
